While some may enjoy having a lavish 10-step skincare “ritual”, many of us simply do not have the time to layer on product after product, let alone setting aside dedicated time for weekly exfoliation, plumping, brightening, anti-ageing, deep cleansing, firming masks and at-home treatments (especially while working from home). If you’re just like us, juggling between replying to emails, texts, and having that cup of tea all while getting ready to step out of the house, multi-tasking products are perfect for you! Today we will be sharing some tips on how certain targeted products can simplify your skincare routine without compromising on the results. As always, all tried and tested before we recommend it.

  1. Exfoliation does not have to be an extra step.

Exfoliating is an important step in any skincare regime, however, with many modern formulations containing AHAs and BHAs in their formulas, exfoliation does not always have to be an additional step. In fact, it might be worth checking how many of your products contain AHAs, BHAs, or physical exfoliants as you may be over exfoliating your skin unintentionally. We do not recommend exfoliating every day; exfoliating once to twice a week is sufficient for most people.

Cleansers: Cleansers, particularly anti-ageing cleansers or those that target acne and blemishes, often contain AHAs and BHAs. The Organic Pharmacy Rose Diamond Exfoliating Cleanser contains enzymes to gently exfoliate and renew the skin. Enzyme cleansers are gentle and better suited for sensitive skin types.

Serums: Our favourite way of incorporating a chemical exfoliant in our skincare regime is by using an acid serum. Firstly, the product is truly a multi-tasker; a thicker layer can be applied for 10-15 minutes as a flash treatment or the recommended amount can be applied overnight once or twice a week under or even over a moisturizer (for extremely sensitive skin types). We do not recommend using acid serums daily as this could lead to over exfoliation and compromise the skin’s natural barrier. When using any exfoliator, reduce usage if skin becomes sensitized. The Organic Pharmacy Four Acid Serum contains three powerful AHAs (glycolic, citric, lactic, and tartaric acid) that work to brighten and renew the skin, while preventing black heads and congestion if used regularly.

  1. Most would not need a “makeup remover”.

Cleansers have come a long way from just “soap”. Many modern cleansers are designed to remove makeup, and unless you are wearing waterproof or a lot of makeup, you probably would not require a makeup remover on top of your double cleansing routine.

Oil and balm cleansers are great for removing makeup as an oil is the best way to remove other oils and impurities. Both oil and balm cleansers typically contain oils as the base and work to gently remove makeup and buildup on the skin without stripping the skin of its natural oils.

The Pai Light Work Rosehip Cleansing Oil is formulated with organic oils and antioxidants to cleanse, brighten, and hydrate the skin. If you prefer cleansing balms, we recommend the Evolve Organic Beauty Gentle Cleansing Melt – a soft and indulgent vanilla scented organic cleansing balm packed with antioxidants that soothes and hydrates while cleansing.

  1. A booster, essence, and serum all in one!

Concentrates are the new star product for a reason; they contain potent ingredients found in boosters, ampoules, essences, and serums, often in a more concentrated form, and are formulated to penetrate the skin. They can be applied or patted in right after cleansing and under a moisturizer, eliminating the need for layering multiple products.

The Venn Age-Reversing All-In-One Concentrate is truly an anti-ageing powerhouse. Containing VENN’s proprietary Concentric Technology™, using potent concentrations of naturally-derived Antioxidants and high-performance Peptides to deeply hydrate and effectively improve the skin’s complexion in a single step.
